Seems somewhat arbitrary to me that Accrington gets to count as separate from Burnley but the much larger and more important city of Bradford is ignored - presumably because it's counted as part of Leeds. In South Yorkshire, there are two very similar-sized towns - both well over 100,000 people - Rotherham and Barnsley. One is counted, one is not - I guess because it's counted as part of Sheffield, though it has it's own separate council and is both Geographically and administratively distinct.

Yes, I have also struggled with this issue. It really depends on what the source counts the term "urban area" . What's more, some areas are really loosened and are difficult to set a fixed population.

I wonder (maybe it's because I'm not British...) why isn't Portsmouth or Wolverhampton included? You see, I think of cities with PL or Championship clubs and they came to my mind, but are not solutions in this quiz. Otherwise, good work you're doing!

The cities of Portsmouth and Wolverhampton are included in other urban areas, counting as one big agglomeration. If you want to see the other version of this by city proper (only counting population of the city's boundary), click here!

Paignton is a constituent part of Torbay, the biggest element of which is Torquay - probably more accurate to use Torquay.
