Great quiz. Question 11 might benefit from a slight rewording. "Spoken Cantonese (Yue) cannot be understood by people who speak Mandarin." I thought that this might be a trick question because when written out, both dialects should be understood by both people. I still should have gotten that right though. :)

Yeah I got that one wrong because I thought it was a trick question about the ability to read both dialects.

What about the Shang and Zhou dynasties? Don't they count as a "unified China"?

Archaeologically their existence is to be confirmed.

The Shang dynasty and Zhou dynasty are firmly supported by archaeological evidence... You must be thinking of the Xia dynasty, which is an uncertain time period that predates those dynasties.

Based on the results, I guess people forget that Suez canal wasn't built until 19th century, and Zheng He probably wasn't keen on sailing around Africa....

Kinda funny that the fact I had under that quiz was #266 "China only has one time zone..."
