RSA - Generally taken to be 31 May 1910, though some might argue would be after the Balfour Declaration (1926) or in 1931 (Statute of Westminster). South Africa was a founding member of both the League of Nations and the UN, signed the Treaty of Versailles as an independent power in 1919 and declared war separately in WWII (indeed, it nearly remained neutral). In 1961 South Africa left the commonwealth and became a republic but was independent long before that.
