The Pan-American Highway is a road network connecting the North and South American continents.
Conceived in 1923 as a single route, the road grew to include a large number of highways in participating countries, making it the longest "motorable road" in the world -although incomplete.
Can you find the cities on this map of the Pan American Highway?
The North American part on the map is a historical route, among many others
Your comment makes sense. I've read several maps and it seems the Pan-Am Highway follows the Route 5 in western Chile, so it crosses Santiago.
Just to be clear: finding the real route is very difficult beacause it has been conceived 100 years ago and some roads may have changed. Moreover, a lot of secondary roads have been included to the original route, so it's hard to keep track :)
