Carpet I found pretty cryptic, should probably at least remove "the" bc "the stars" in a vacuum(!) means celestial stars. Also found the Scrabble clue misleading bc Triple Word gives the most points and is red... Maybe im in the minority and i can't think of a good way to fix it so ig it's fine, just saying (maybe smtn like "has the highest scoring Scrabble tile"?)
I still didn't get the carpet one. I thought the red carpet got rolled out for all famous people, including e.g. heads of state on visit in a foreign country, not just stars.
Sometimes clues need to be concise. In this case, the only word "stars" seems clear as what it refers. And the scores tends to confirm the wording is clear ;)
I actually thought it was referring to the red squares on the Scrabble Board, too. You could say something like, “Worth 14 in Scrabble” or something. I think this quiz is wonderful and will soon be featured, by the way. 😄
Despite the wording, I made the same mistake - I thought the clarification 'the word' referred to the triple word spaces (as opposed to the double/triple letter spaces). Perhaps you could say "(the word of the colour") to make it even clearer, though clearly the mistake was mine not yours
Definitely wasn't clearer, I failed that question two times before I read the comments to figure this out. "The word" for me meant that the value of the whole (random) word on a board should be the highest, so you'd need the triple word box and not just one letter.
I'm assuming this refers to some digital version of Scrabble? There's no yellow one a scrabble board. Maybe signify that's it's the non-board game version? Even the clue doesn't help if you've never played a digital version.
I mistakenly thought that it said AI as in artificial intelligence. So that question confused me quite a bit. I ended up getting it right by guessing, but if I knew it was referring to Al Green I would have gotten it much sooner!
About the Scrabble one, the clue seems fair to me. Let see if other user make the same feedback.
“Worth the most points as a word in Scrabble.”
Thanks for your support!
Thanks for the comment :)
The other two are quite famous actors with parts in films like Austin Powers and James Bond.
Great quiz idea btw, pretty colours…
(Edit seeing how low they score, I might not have been the only one making these mistakes)
Ah well lol
