The way it reads now suggests that you have to use a pair of tiles for something. The hyphen clarifies that "2" and "letter" form a combined adjective that modifies the word "tiles."
I Googled "Dominion Richmond" and got no results. The Dominion was made up of Canada, Aus, NZ, Newfoundland, KSA, Ireland, India, Pakistan, and Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
I only had trouble with the first one in this case - I thought that word meant "kidnap" more generally, didn't know the nautical connotation.
