As to the path, I built it on a spreadsheet so that the questions come in a very specific order. It was quite fun to do, and it is even more fun to read that users like the final result!

Look at it like one of those cryptic crosswords, it is unlikely you will know the first question, but once you get one of them, it starts to give you more clues for the others. So it is not solving top-down.
Edit; and the logic is, that (since) the first question needs a vowel, but there are several vowels so you don't know which is needed, therefore you need to wait until you have more info so you could pick the right vowel. It only makes sense.
im tired of geography
As a starting point, there are 4 seperate questions that can be answered in the first round. Then the remaining choices narrow down quickly once you have them.
Btw, this question is one of the last to be solved in my logical progression.
