Madison is the shortened name for "The University of Wisconsin-Madison" and Rutgers is "Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey" -- why do those count?

"Madison" referred to Madison Area Technical College, and Rutgers is almost never listed with it's full name. However, I have updated the name of Madison and changed the NJ answer.

Rutgers is how it;s known. I dont think you need to change that one

East Carolina has the name Carolina so that is confusing. Love the quiz though!

I understand how it can be confusing, but it does not have the name "North Carolina" in it, so I allowed the answer.

Thanks for the kind words!

You could add a caveat that says "must contain the EXACT name to be excluded"

Liberty University in Virginia has online only programs and degrees so it should be removed from this list

Many of these universities have online-only programs (notably Grand Canyon), but all of them have physical campuses as well. This quiz excludes universities where *all* of their courses are online-only, of which I only had to exclude one or two.

Isnt San Diego State "California State, San Diego"?

No, it is officially San Diego State University. Though that is a former name for it, SDSU was adopted in 1974 and has not been changed since.
