Can you add categories that these can belong to (regions, bodies of water, cities, etc)? For the region in Africa, I didn't really know what you were trying to get us to say. Other quizzes similar to this quiz have categories. This makes it easier for the quiz taker so that we know exactly what you are looking for.
Hindustan is a pretty bad clue. It's a Persian word meaning "Land of the Indus" and it was used to refer to all of modern India. Referring to the map, I think it should be corrected or removed altogether.
I agree. In most common understanding, Hindustan refers to the whole of India, not a specific region. The Hindustan Times, for example, is a major newspaper, and they certainly use the word to mean India as a whole.
Anyone else remember Hebrides because of the Hebrides overture? No one? Just the band kid? Okay. (If you haven't listened to it please do the clarinet duet towards the end is amazing)
I was not too familiar with the term Hindustan, so I looked into it and I tend to agree with the others. It is ambiguous at best.
At one point in time it could indeed also refer to roughly the region you display here, but even then, it generally meant either the entire subcontinent or India. That meaning is still in use colloquially, but the definition you use is obsolete.
Plus if someone were to name the region you show it would be Indo-Gangetic plain, or North Indian river plain
I thought I had figured the issue out. I looked at the name (Indo-gangetic plain) in other languages and it seemed that in Polish it is called (translated) Hindustan plains. But turns out you are Serbian not Polish. So that can't be the reason.
