Nice work! I didn't notice Sudan and South Sudan & Serbia and Montenegro at first, as they were both actually united before becoming 2 distinct independent countries :)

neat idea except for your choice of France and Suriname, the name Merged countries implies that you are merging or putting two countries next to each other together. There would have been no way of knowing what went with France. please eliminate that pairing to make your quiz sensible.

If you had france, but didnt know what to pair it with you only got it by randomly guessing countries. If you noticed, hey suriname is bigger than it should be, you would figure out what is next to it.

It is a tricky one, (didnt even notice it was bigger btw) but nothing to complain about

For me it wasn't so much that I noticed Suriname was bigger, more that I noticed there were only two small countries above Brazil instead of three haha

You got France by randomly guessing, I presume? Well then, I hope this was a good humbling for you. Actually use skill instead of hoping to get lucky. Also French Guiana was highlighted on the map, so unless you were zoomed in on France the whole time, you probably should have noticed that.

I know how Jetpunk loves to assert that French Guyana is not a country and merely an overseas extension of France, but they really should accept French Guyana as a typed answer, just like most quizzes accept Burma and Myanmar interchangeably.

It would be French Guiana then, so french guyana would never be a correct answer. And I think french guiana is accepted now.

20 countries have been merged, but one has been also divided: Serbia. Kosovo is a part of Serbia, not an independent nation

It always surprises me that the pairs don't have the same percentages. What are people doing that they're guessing one of the two and not the other? They know how this works, right?

Sometimes they know one but not the other. Like it's easy to spot something like brazil for example but they may not know the bordering country

I didn't understand the quiz properly; I wasn't looking at the answered answers, I only saw that when I put them in it went green, so I assumed there were 20 merges. So I carried on looking until I scrolled down... I think it should be made clear you need to guess both countries n each merge...

This map reminds me of something from the early 2000's. Serbia & Montenegro as well as a united Sudan. Even back to the 40's with the British Raj.
