Interesting to note the big gaps between those getting DRC and Ukraine and their respected merge partner. Surely once you've got one country it's pretty simple to get the second - even if you have no idea, just keep typing in bordering countries and you'll get there.
Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't work out what the quiz is asking for. Ireland and the UK used to be merged (through conquest) The same applies to lots of countries.. Tanzania is a merger of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. Moldova was part of the USSR (as were Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, etc.) but, to my knowledge, isn't merged with anybody now. India is made up of a number of what were once separate entities. I can see no logic in the answers. Anyone care to clarify for me?
On the map pictured above, all of the answers are shown as 'merged' countries. I.E., for the United States and Mexico, you'll notice there is no border shown on the map. The quiz is asking for you to look at the map, and identify which countries are merged (border has been erased).
Green animations made it somewhat unclear that the answers were looking for both of the merged countries so I only got 10/20 thinking that there were more merges to look for.
Wow, I spent the whole entire time looking for Kazakstan/Uzbekistan, and I found it with 5 seconds remaining. Then I typed in Turkmenistan instead of Uzbekistan... I always get my Stans mixed up.
Damn, I finally noticed the remaining pair Ghana/Ivory Coast literally 2 seconds before time ran out and managed to type in both names. That was close!
Germany fulfilling stereotypes. Being an ethnic German, I wonder if this is a historical map.
I do need lebensraum.
