The exclusion of countries without borders helps a lot. There a re alot of insular countries in the caraibes islands (is this the correct spelling? ).

Therevore, the quizz is pretty straightforward, since most countries are connected like in a North/south, or South/north chain.

Also, we have another big advantage: Brasil has land borders with most of the other South America countries, so writing its capital advances the answer a lot.
