Agreed. I managed to get all correct even though I couldn't tell apart Missouri, Mississippi and Maine. Tried them all ramdomly until I got 100%. That took me 1 minute, so I guess 45 or 50 seconds woul be the ideal time to separate people who actually know everything from people like me, who happen to remember the names of the states.
It says 1:55 remaining but I can't believe I got them all in five seconds, especially since I spelled Minnesota wrong and had to start over. (But I am a fast typist, so maybe it's possible.)
Wow, what a difference two and a half years makes. It took me quite a bit longer this time and I certainly would no longer call myself a fast typist. :(
You know what would be great for these types of quizzes; an option that if you incorrectly guess the answer, you cannot guess it again (kind of like when there is that pick list).
I am from Ireland and I got it with 4 seconds left! As an outsider who is interested in US it took me a while to get it. I understand its easy for local Americans to guess but you have to think of the rest of the world who are not familiar with all the areas! Like I guarantee you couldnt do all the areas in Ireland by outline!!
Missouri and Mississippi in particular are super uncreative. Easily confused for the rivers they're named after. And "Montana"? Please. And "Maryland"? Uncreative, and didn't we fight a whole war so we didn't have to deal with kings and queens, let alone name states after them? They should have strong American names like Guntopia, Knifeiana or Strongergroyne.
Plus, Montana is so large as to be ungainly and should be divided. Maryland is awkwardly-shaped and should change its borders to be a little more round. Maybe they can do a triple deal to fix West Virginia's equally awkward shape and lame name. Minnesota can stay basically the same but let's eliminate the unsightly skin tag on its northern border. I don't even care if Canada takes it, it can be our Bir Tawil.
For those whining about time, there might be people who need that time to actually think of all the m-states. If you ask a random person on the street (not in America) they probably won't be able to name them all, let alone in the allotted time.
If you know them all without needing to waste time on remembering, the time is fine and perhaps slightly one the generous side (which is fine..). If you know (nearly) all the shapes too then yes, it is a lot of time.
But would you whine for less time too when the quiz was French departments starting with M?
Probably too generous on the time though. There is long enough to go through and type the various options and get them right that way.

I Didn't Spell Mississippi Wrong I Just Guessed It
