I bow down to you thou noblemen, who has driven back the darkness and replaced it with the brightest of the lights. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who has crushed toowise, a lesser noblemen by any standards. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who is one of only 32 users with 45,000+ points. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who strikes fear deep within the hearts of his enemies. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who stopped me from saying the stroke on this map is a bit hit or miss. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who stopped me from questioning the continental rotation on a flat map. I bow down to you thou noblemen, who has made me write the stupidest comment in my life. I am forever in your service, sir NigelS.
IDK what do you mean. I assume that you are saying about that the continents are not straight. IDK how to fix it because the SVG I got from Wikimedia was like that

Cool quiz! This is an interesting point in history you chose, right before the decolonization in Africa. A year after this, the world map looked very different. Also, the detail you put around island countries is cool :)
Papua New Guinea was under Australian administration at the time, wasn't it? Also, the Indonesians only controlled Timor-Leste from 1975 to 1999, it was still Portuguese in 1959.
As someone mentioned before, Djibouti is mistakenly part of the UK on this map. Also, Yemen had not unified yet with South Yemen still under British control. West Papua (Western New Guinea) was not a part of Indonesia at this time, originally declaring independence in 1961. The Seychelles were a British colony.
You said that your source had "too many mistakes", would you like to elaborate on those mistakes? The only mistakes I noticed were a couple countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, and a small island of Indonesia.
I really like this quiz, it just needs a bit more work.
A few notes: North Yemen has been put in the wrong continent and it lacks capitalization of the Y. The other Yemen (should be South Yemen) is displayed as UK on the map. Could you please put a circle or arrow at Sikkim? I couldn't find the missing country on the map. And shouldn't just Germany be accepted for West Germany?
But there were too many mistakes that's why edited by me.

A pair of inconsequential nitpicks:
- In 1959 Myanmar still went by Burma
- The territory of Portuguese India lights up when Spain is entered
Just a couple of minor corrections
- East Timor was not under Indonesian occupation in 1959, it was still a colony of Portugal
- PNG was administered by Australia, not the UK
Guatemala and Honduras have the goofiest border
