Starting from the northernmost point of mainland Americas, going anticlockwise, trace the outline of the continents by correctly naming each country along the way.
After litterally 5 years of JetPunking, Colombia was the only country that I always forgot to spell right. However, after this quiz (probably by the tenth of March) I was already completely used to typing it correctly.
I keep typing in "America" when I'm supposed to but nothing shows up. I typed in Alaska and it worked. Alaska is not a country, it's a state of the USA. Because we're doing countries, USA should be the correct answer for anything involving it.
I know about it :) It's a beautiful and unique little spot. Kids have to cross the border four times a day to go to school, since it's tiny and there isn't a school there. COVID has been tough on the community though, what with border closures. Looking forward to visiting it again in better times.
(But are there any? Aren't the non-contiguous areas just part of the country rather than OT's? Since it's "mainland Americas" you could probably just remove that caveat)
Jet, do you want that I creat a collab quiz for we talk? I think that you are using Boxy, because you are asking something’s to me. I want that you say your doubts in the quiz.
the Atlantic coast Colombia doesn't accept Columbia as a write in, but the Pacific coast does; not only did I just realize that I've been spelling it wrong this whole time, but I also missed that one because of it! teehee
I think there's a graphical error with the coast of Canada: Quebec land south of Saint Lawrence isn't shown when it should be. Also, the pacific coast of Honduras since to be colored black when everything else is green. Regardless, great quiz!
Jet, regarding the picks of Brasileirão that I did, you didn’t pick all the matches. You can pick a draw if you want. Could you please correct it, or you don’t know about the others?
tierra del fuego is not part of mainland americas so you probably shouldn't include it in the map. other than that great quiz. glad you included point roberts
Serious question, and just out of curiosity, I've never heard the term "anticlockwise" before this. Is that a thing? I've always referred to it as "counter-clockwise." I see it's in the dictionary, I've just never heard it used.
'Anticlockwise' is the normal term in British English, thus also all over the Commonwealth. I (being British) see 'counter-clockwise' as being specifically American.
The map gets a little bit weird near Maine, Quebec, and New Brunswick. It makes it look like there's a body of water separating Maine from New Brunswick and Quebec. It's the only land border shown like that on the map.
Looking at the fact you where specific on Point Roberts. You need to have a look at the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua as there is a small bit Nicaragua in Costa Rica on the Carabian Coast. Some strips are only couple of meters
So Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Nicaragua.
What a fun quiz. Adds so much more than just naming the countries as you have to know the borders and the order going round. Excellent stuff. Thanks a lot.
I feel pretty bad for JetPunker180. I read every comment on this quiz, and saw the words "fixed", or "changed about 50 times. (Not to be rude, but maybe you should hit *preview* before you submit your quizzes. If not, then you'll end up with Murphy's Law. You'll think everything is fine, but when you submit it, you'll get approximately 50 comments telling you "this is wrong", or "this should be there").
The Greek translation for this one is done. Not sure about the brand logos one though... I like the quiz, but it's obviously American centric and there's the problem with the letters, so yeah... If you want, though, you can Collab us on the trace a world map, as I like it
Edit: For the third type in, nothing works.
To tidy up the description a bit I'd suggest:
"Trace the coast of the Americas with a map"
And "Overseas Territories"
(But are there any? Aren't the non-contiguous areas just part of the country rather than OT's? Since it's "mainland Americas" you could probably just remove that caveat)
I love these ones :)
Otherwise, this is an awesome quiz. Well done!
ye that seems right lol
then i remembered that it was basically just france and o got 10% lol
it just showed it for me
not that good
So Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Nicaragua.
The tip of San Pedro Belize is connected to Mexico unless you count is as an island as there is a dug canal cutting it of from the main land
Great quiz, though!
