It is worth noting that, although some of the authors featured in this quiz might not be considered strictly "French", most of them were born, spent a significant portion of their lives, and/or had a strong multifaceted connection with the territory corresponding to modern-day France and other French-speaking nations. Additionally, in terms of vernacular affinity, it could be reasonably assumed that they wrote primarily (more often than not exclusively) in the French language (including archaic variations of it). All things considered, while their mentioning could be understandably debatable, it would also be justified to a certain degree.
Excellent quiz! As a French who reads a lot I can tell you that you gathered all the great writers of the country without forgetting one. The titles in English were a good challenge to me.
I always find the answer percentages of these things fascinating. That Apollinaire, for example, should be so much higher than George Sand just seems to me so strange!
