Can you name the subdivisions of Medieval Europe during the year 1000 AD (height of the middle ages)?
Check the caveats.
Also a side note: These countries aren't shown at their peak (when they owned the most territory), this map is only the territory they owned in the year 1000 AD.
If the country has further subdivisions (i.e. states/counties), then you will need to name those and not the country name (if this is the case, the country name will be labeled).
If the country has no further subdivisions, all you need to do is name the country (as this serves as the subdivision itself).
Other regions not part of Medieval Europe at the time are shown and labeled (the areas in light blue) for convenience.
I tried to spell most of these to the best of my ability, but there were a couple ones where I couldn't find the exact spelling. So if you know I spelled something wrong and you know the correct spelling, please let me know! Thanks!
1000 AD was not the height of the middle ages, that would be around 1300 AD. Also in 1000 AD, Wales was not yet a country and would not be for a long time. There were several Welsh kingdoms.
I did some research and the Middle Ages is from 500-1500 AD, so 1000 AD would technically be the height since its right in the middle of that time period.
I also checked multiple sources and it does say Wales was once country.
Bucvllariorum to Bucellatiorum
Clsaldea to Chaldea
Fatimad Caliphate toFatimid Caliphate
Nicopoils to Nicopolis
Sebasica to Sebastea
Selecuia to Seleucia
Thracesian to Thracesion
I also checked multiple sources and it does say Wales was once country.
