The Taiwanese government functions independently from all other foreign governments. Taiwan has a central government that has a monopoly on the legitimate use of power within its borders.
Those two facts establish that Taiwan's government has specific and legitimate claims to sovereignty over the island.
Sovereignty over a specific piece of land means that it is now your country.
Sure it is. It has a functional government in control of its own territory on the island of Taiwan, and is highly developed economically, politically, and socially. I'd argue it has a stronger claim to statehood than actually recognized nations such as Somalia.
If we did a potential huge political crisis would occur because some groups of people are a little stubborn to admit that they don't control the entire South China Sea.
Icould of sworn malaysia was further east than mongolia and thought this looked wrong, and checking wikipedia malaysia goes further east than 104 degree
found out from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_extreme_points_of_Malaysia
East Near Kampong Look Sembuang in Lahad Datu Sabah Sulu Sea 5°14′27″N 119°16′00″E
so while i was further east than monglia, it is furhter east than the 104 degrees
And I thought I made it clear by saying "on Borneo". Peninsular Malaysia is about 104. As GK says, Mongolia & Malaysia both 119.something, with Mongolia just shading it
@quizzer6794 No it is not, it stretches a whole 15 degrees further east, you overlooked quite a bit of the country (like half of it). But still, mongolia stretches even a little bit further (about 2/3 of a degree). So malaysia is not on the list, but it is extremely close. (about 70-75 km)
My instinct was definitely that Malaysia goes farther east. That instinct was wrong, but Malaysia does go way farther than 104 and comes very close to Mongolia, as others have said.
Its Technically considered Russia in Europe because of its Capital lying in Europe's side. Siberia and other places are in Asia making Russia in 2 Continents.
Obviously it's in both. If we are forced to choose one, we choose Europe because that's where the majority of the population lives. However on quizzes like this we are not forced to choose one. This policy is consistent on all our featured quizzes.
Malaysia DEFINITELY goes further than 104 degrees. And it is close but mongolia strethches further east just a tiny bit. Both 119 degrees east but Mongolia is about 119 55' And malaysia is 119 16'
Got them all with 1:21 remaining at 4:54 PM on February 22, 2019. I was surprised when Malaysia didn't work, but fortunately Mongolia was my next guess.
Russia is considered a European country in other Jet Punk quizzes. I'd prefer it be consistent. I'd also prefer Istanbul to be an Asian city as Turkey is an Asian country.
If you had read through the other comments before complaining, you would have noticed the Quizmaster saying,
“ Obviously it's in both. If we are forced to choose one, we choose Europe because that's where the majority of the population lives. However on quizzes like this we are not forced to choose one. This policy is consistent on all our featured quizzes.”
Should USA count as an answer? The Near Islands are a part of Alaska (and as such not a territory) and lies on the Asian continental shelf at 174E.
It's definitely counterintuitive as USA is (for very compelling reasons) primarily though of as being in North America but it does narrowly extend into Asia.
The concept of continents is socially constructed and has nothing to do with continental shelfs or plate tectonics or anything else. No, the USA is not in any part in Asia.
I agree. If Russia is considered, then USA should be considered. Aleutian islands, the islands, little diomede island in the Bering Sea, even Hawaii. The most compelling arguement is Russia's easternmost point, not even counting big Diomede island is Uelen, which is by many miles (60+) further west than Gambell, Alaska.
As this isn't about Asian countries but countries with territory in Asia not including overseas territories but including islands Alaska is not an overseas territory it is a US State so wouldn't that put the US pretty high on the list because of the Aleutian islands?
Don't you hate it when you got them all, but there's just that one remote and minuscule island nation that keeps evading you? You kow, the one that's so tiny and remote you can't even see it on a map? For me, that was Mongolia.
IS NOT A COUNTRY

It is suprisingly close between the 2!

It says it includes islands, however, the entirety of the islands in Oceania are missing. )
it literally has "east" in it's name
Can I translate this quiz to german?
