It was the Z that cracked it for me. If Zimbabwe is closer than Zambia, it can only be one of about 4 or 5 countries. Lesotho was my second guess after that.

I always try Zim and try to figure out the "U" country first on these quizzes. "H" is another good one to try for.They're very telling.

Your goal is to guess the unknown country. To help, you are shown (not as a hint) which countries are closest to it, for each letter A to Z. For example, Zimbabwe is the closest "Z" country to Lesotho; Zambia is further. Hope that helps! :)

Great quiz! For some reason, the first country I could think of was Lesotho, so that was funny. Also, not to start an argument, but wouldn't Ivory Coast be closer than Israel? Or are you counting it as Côte D'Ivoire?

It seems very odd how two countries are accepted when one (Ivory Coast) is closer than the other (Israel).

That threw me off too, I thought they must be exactly the same distance or something. Should leave Israel out of it I think and just use Ivory Coast, otherwise it'll always be confusing.

Yeah especially when it's your letter before any other big hints. Same distance would suggest Niger or Chad to be the distance.

I know about lesotho because of south africa's shape, i always type it in first for some reason xD i get annoyed that south africa has 1 (pretty much 2) holes in it and now i know everything about Lesotho. I guessed it first!

Ivory Coast = Israel? Israel is in Asia at the Middle East while the Ivory Coast is in Western Africa. How is this possible?

The quiz was created when Ivory Coast was called "Cote D'Ivoire", but since then its changed, and this site uses Ivory Coast, so originally Israel was the right answer. I actually appreciated the rather adding Ivory coast as an acceptable answer, rather than voiding previous quiz results

Even at the time, we used Ivory Coast; the creator accepted both answers so people didn't get 'punished' if they remembered it as Côte d'Ivoire I believe.

Not a glitch, read the comments. Used to avoid people not counting Ivory Coast because of Côte d'Ivoire and also to avoid a stat reset, I think.

Start randomly guessing countries. It's helpful to guess letters that not many countries start with at the start, like V or Z. From there, try to narrow the selection down to a region of the world. Keep guessing countries in or around that region until you find the mystery country, and then try to complete the puzzle.
