Because for a lot of flags, it is unclear if the coast of arm appears on the official version or not. Especially if you take the South American countries, it’s not always easy to know which is the official version.
I believe Peru has been fixed recently on the Quizmaster’s quiz though, now it’s fully red and white, no coat of arm.
I typed North Macedonia and it wasn't accepted (unless I missed a typo?). Either way, to be consistent with other quizzes, North Macedonia should be the answer. Otherwise, great quiz!
Looks like Mauritania added a red stripe to the top and bottom of their flag in 2017. So should be removed. Also in the flags of the world quiz Peru has no emblem, unless it's changed. So should it be in on here then?
Peru's flag with no emblem or coat of arms is of civilian use, the one with the emblem is of official or institutional use. The civilian variation could be added.

Very nice quiz!
Three adjustments need to be made:
1.- Add Peru : There is no emblem in the flag used everywhere, such as emoji icons, only red and white
2.- Add Afghanistan: Flag of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is made up of black and white
3.- Remove Mauritania: They recently added two red stripes to make it Red, Green AND White
1 - Macedonia goes by North Macedonia for a while now
2 - Mauritania changed its flag 5 years ago and doesnt belong here anymore
3 - Afghanistan chaged last years its flag and should be added
4 - Turkey goes by Türkiye
