Thing is the capital city of Sri Lanka is known as 'Colombo' to the rest of the world, but they give it the native name on jetpunk which is really annoying.
Um...the capital of Sri Lanka is not called Colombo. It is Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. Kotte is simply a suburb (?) of Colombo. Admittedly, some users are very bitter about this.
Panama City is there now, but Guatemala City still isn't. I was surprised to see Havana there, but I guess that's because most of the quizzers on this website are from the USA
Somehow I feel these results are more representative of the population as a whole, rather than the geography nerds here on Jetpunk. I'm still surprised at how low some of these are though.
South Africa has actually managed to pick three capital cities without naming their biggest city as one of them. Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontein are all capitals of South Africa, but Johannesburg isn't.
No way, I didn't get Jerusalem, because in Dutch we write it with a z instead of s and after trying twice i just gave up and continued with the other continents. Sad day for me
It's interesting that Jerusalem is the ONLY one with a lower percentage guessed in this quiz than in the world version. And its percentage is MUCH lower in this one (42% here v 65% in the world version, as of today).
Perhaps in the world version many people start Asia with Turkey and go down to Israel fairly quickly, just a thought.
I thought Pyongyang was more commonly known. It seems more interesting, or has more interesting wikipedia articles regarding the name, than something like New Delhi or Jerusalem. I always associate the name with the pyramidal hotel.
