Accept Buddhist as well as Buddhism?
+2
Level 64
May 15, 2017
Buddhism is the name of the religion, while Buddhist is the name of the adherent.
+1
Level 63

But 'Buddhist' is also an adjective describing things of or related to Buddhism, e.g. a Buddhist monk, a Buddhist statue. Because of that, when asked which religion is the appropriate answer, one might correctly say 'the Buddhist religion'. Buddhism is a better answer, and clearly what was intended, but I wouldn't say that Buddhist is wrong.

True, but there is a big difference between an Adjective and a Noun. You wouldn't accept Canadian for Canada or Muslim for Islam.

I agree. We Australians NEVER call Tasmania ‘a region’. It’s always referred to as a state, because that’s what it is.

Otherwise, thanks for a great quiz!

To all complaining about the term region not being a state...how is that even a logical thought. From Wikipedia (yes I know it's not perfect but this definition is pretty darn good): In geography, regions are areas that are broadly divided by physical characteristics, human impact characteristics, and the interaction of humanity and the environment. Considering different countries use different terms for their subdivisions (states, provinces, counties, countries, parishes, etc.) Region seems to be the most logical choice of term.
