I've heard the lighthouse frequently called Lighthouse of Pharos, named after the island it stood on. Maybe an acceptable type-in?

Hmm, the pharos bit means lighthouse. The Lighthouse at Pharos doesn't really make sense in terms of its geographical location.

It is either the Pharos at Alexandria or the Lighthouse at Alexandria.

This kind of tautology wouldn't be unprecedented though.

Torpenhow Hill is a hill in Cumbria, England. Its name consists of the Old English ‘Tor’, the Welsh ‘Pen’, and the Danish ‘How’ - all of which translate to modern English as ‘Hill’. Therefore, Torpenhow Hill would translate as hill-hill-hill hill and is thus twice as interesting as the Japanese Mount Fujiyama, which translates into English as Mount Mount.
