How many countries missing can you name? As you answer, the countries you name will reapper.
Be careful! You only have 2 minutes and 20 seconds to name 40 countries!
(I just felt the other ones were too easy so I created one of my own. Sorry JetPunk's quizmasters!)
Have fun!
It has to be a sovereign nation (use the common english name)
Answers change every time you play
Undetectable countries aren't considered. Click the map to zoom!
Thank you so much for your suggestion! Unfortunately, I tried several times with more than 2 minutes, but it turns out it becomes too easy, in fact everyone was getting 100% every time. Therefore i realised it had to be faster in order to become difficult. I guarantee you that is doable, as i have done it several times, and i'm happy as it is right now, considering the fact that this could be the hardest quiz of its category available on JetPunk right now. (I'm not bragging, this is only my humble opinion) Have fun playing!
I’d have to disagree that it’s the most difficult quiz on Jetpunk in terms of knowing answers to questions, only in terms of how quickly one can type. And when you use Jetpunk to pass the time or keep yourself awake on the commute to work, using a phone with a tiny keyboard (and the clumsy hands of a 6’3’’ person), having to manoeuvre the map to be able to see the missing countries, it does become very difficult. And it’s amazing how many of these ‘random’ quizzes so frequently include answers like ‘Equatorial Guinea,’ just to makes sure there’s a little extra typing to do.
I’d always thought quizzing was about testing your knowledge, or ability to work out answers to problems/puzzles. All of these fast-typing ones are less about quizzing, and more like an application to be a secretary. As you say, with a bit longer on the clock, plenty get 100%, which tells you they know the answers, all you’ve done therefore is made another speed-typing test, which JP has more than enough of.
The knowledge stands on knowing what's every country called and being able to locate it in the given amount of time. I've never said this would be the most difficult quiz on JP, I said it would be the most challenging of its category.
I'm sorry if it's not that easy on a phone, but I can't change it only because of that I'm afraid. There's plenty of very good quizzes that you can do on a phone on this site, but there's another good amount that you can't be able to get if you're not using a computer.
Btw the quiz is randomized, so Equatorial Guinea isn't gonna show up every time.
Idk if this comment of yours was just a provocation or a suggestion, but i hope I answered all of your questions. Have a nice time playing!
Well, it was a suggestion but apparently the invitation wasn’t genuine. I think it’s a valId one, especially since there exist similar quizzes with 20 answers, but more available time. As I said, I had no difficulty locating or naming the countries, but the ability to type them at speed is the only stumbling block.
I do wish I could take a screen grab and post it here. Having had another stab, the randomiser managed to spit out the usual suspects again, including… Equatorial Guinea! I use a phone because I mainly use the site on the commute. I’m certain I’m not the only one. But there will be disabled and elderly people who use this site as well, who are potentially left frustrated when they know the answers but can’t type quickly enough to satisfy quiz setters who imagine that knowledge only counts if it can be typed at speed.
The pinned comment does ask for suggestions on how to improve the quiz. But you appear to have rejected any that are made, and they all refer to the time.
I've added 30 seconds after your 2nd comment, and now 5.7% of people are getting it. If I had to add more time just for the disabled and the elderly it would become too easy for youngsters and not disabled people (no offense intended). I'm sorry about Equatorial Guinea, I've never gotten it in my tries, but that's the game, sometimes you have to get lucky to get all of them.
Nice one! I just set my pb at 1:28. Coming from the "20 missing countries quiz" I though at first that this was hard but after several tries I feel like is routine. You should make one with 50 (or even more)
Got stuck at 39. Time ran out. Nothing turned red. I started zoom searching. I thought I had hit every part of the world, but I still couldn't find the missing country. I had to check the list to see that it was Gambia. Sure enough, it's invisible when the map isn't zoomed. You can see it during zoom if you know to look for it.
I guess you really have to bring your A game to even look for them! Everyone needs a bit of luck playing this quiz to get them all. I wish you all the luck in the world in your next try then!
Some time ago it had a 2 mins time limit, i added 30 secs just to make it a more interesting and doable challenge, and now 5.7% of people that tried it got 100% (which is 1800 people). I got it in under 2 mins several times, so I'm sure that with some trying and a little bit of luck you'll get it! Keep trying!
Thanks for noticing that, I'm italian and i might have spelled it in italian by mistake. Considering that you need to write just "Sao Tome" to get it, I've never noticed it. Thank you!
Some time ago this quiz was 2 minutes instead of 2.30, I added more time cause there were many people asking for it, you might be one of the only ones who has gotten it in less than 2 mins. Good job! And thanks a lot!
Enjoyably difficult - in five goes I got 40 once, 38 twice and 39 twice. Partly a question of luck as to how many of the really small ones that require zooming in (hello Lebanon and Gambia) come up...
I would suggest leaving out Gambia. That's the only one where it's really close to impossible to tell if it's there or not already, especially if Senegal is there. Otherwise great quiz.
Thank you for making this, it's kept me challenged. It's hard, but possible if you concentrate, which was welcoming after finding the 20 missing countries one a bit too easy. Would love for you to make more quizzes like these! What about one where you have countries missing but you have to name the capital instead of the country name?
Love this quiz and love the extra challenge compared to the 20 missing countries quiz. I would really suggest leaving out Gambia though - it isn't simply hard to see like Montenegro, Lebanon, etc - it genuinely is not visible.
Understand this. I suffered. I played The Boy's "I Can Do Anything / Finale" on repeat as I uttered senseless curses and pleas to my computer screen, begging for something different other than losing to a single country. And for what? Gambia. Missing. I can't see it. Cyprus. Gone. Malta. Really? You want to torture me with things my poor, weathered eyes can't perceive? I see these comments and I see these masochists praising you for what will become the worst moments of my life. They enjoy the suffer and some of them even SUCCEED. This is not for me. I'm suffering in a sea of my invisible tears as I cry out to a god that will not help me see Qatar in time. I have cradled my throbbing, suffering heart and I have told it, "failure is inevitable. The suffering that comes with your incompetence will train you into a better person." And yet I have not succeeded. I want to drag you to a bridge and make you watch me plummet. This pains my heart and soul and mind and essence. I am broken.

Perhaps, I got lucky, or maybe I'm built different:)
Btw in how much time did you get it?
