They actually have quite a few visitors per year ( mostly from China), but they do not give out exact numbers, surprise!

People go to Laos and Azerbaijan? Nepal? Wouldn't that one be busy with Mount Everest?

The way to go up Everest is a lot easier on the Chinese border. When I travelled to Everest I flew into Lhasa from Beijing and drove down to the border. When you get to the top it’s no official border control so they don’t count who goes over the border

Laos is actually an incredible county to visit, travelled there back in January. Kind of the last hidden gem of southeast asia. Super cheap, friendly locals, good backpacker vibes. Would definitely recommend Luang Prabang and Don Det.

Nepal has seen a LOT of tourism in the recent years, I highly doubt they are even close to being on this list nowadays, a lot of backpackers are combining India and Nepal. No way they're are more people visiting Kyrgyzstan or countries that are in the middle of a civil war like Yemen, Myanmar or Syria.

Also since the pandemic North Korea has been shut off even for the Chinese, so yeah that would probably be the least visited now.
