It was fun, and I think 398 for a European is ok (though more time would be nice; the current limit might be fine for an American birdwatcher, but it doesn't allow for much thinking by anyone else), but your hyphenation is quite weird. I kept thinking I was spelling petrel wrong. If this is the "easy" version of your quiz, then that and the likes of pygmy-owl, scrub-jay and rosy-finch shouldn't be so specific.
