From the seventh edition of Merriam Webster’s “The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary.”
The website that corresponds to the book is: https://scrabble.merriam.com/ if you’re curious to learn more.
You only have to enter the base form of the word. No superlatives, conjugations, plurals etc.
Enjoy!
No plurals in this quiz, I just updated the description.
As for gypsy, that and gyp are also accepted words in Scrabble, but I think the dictionary I used omits certain ones that could be considered sensitive for any reason. Maybe I’ll have to find a new source, because those are still good words to learn.
There is now a link in the description to the website version of the book I used where you can search any word for its definition and to see if it’s valid.
Thanks for your suggestions, hope you enjoyed the quiz!
Also, the word “gypsy” is occasionally seen not capitalized and not used as a slur, as in the term “gypsy cab.” It means an independent taxi driver.
You might also want to include an outside link to the specific source you used.
