Hard Mode - Cities and Towns of Australia

This will be difficult even for Australians.
Might include an important LGA that isn't an independent town or city - but it has its own Lord Mayor so it gets to be on the list.

Parramatta is part of Sydney, Frankston is part of Melbourne. Which of these towns, apart from the state capitals, has a Lord Mayor?

Frankston was a mistake, my bad. I've removed it. Parramatta has a Lord Mayor and has a distinctly seperate feel as a quasi capital of Western Sydney. It's also been called by many including Prime Ministers as Sydney's second central business district. So I felt it was noteworthy enough to be in the quiz.

Also fun to note that Wollongong and Newcastle, neither of which are state capitals, also have Lord Mayors.

Another fun fact. You mentioned that Parramatta and Frankston were part of other cities, but according to certain NSW government departments as well as the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), certain towns that would normally be considered independent are being considered as apart of Sydney.

the ABS consider the Blue Mountains (including Katoomba) and the Central Coast (including Gosford) regions as apart of Greater Sydney, and certain NSW government departments also consider Wollongong apart of Greater Sydney. (Mostly for Covid orders related reasons)
