Remember that the names of dead US presidents are not 'blazingly obvious' to most of the world. People may know that Franklin (i.e. Benjamin) was a founding father and important figure in early US politics but won't necessarily know he wasn't a president. So it's a good red herring.
You could also consider adding Hamilton (and maybe other characters from the musical) for similar reasons.
Maybe famous US generals like MacArthur or Patton? People might assume they all followed Eisenhower's lead?!
There is great misdirection in the non-presidents. Here's who I think of:
William Jennings Bryan, Henry Clay, Christopher Columbus, Jefferson Davis, Ben Franklin, Thurgood Marshall, Brigham Young... others are common American last names that one could think of as possible presidents too. (I'm sure others can ascribe American figures here as well, such as Joseph Smith, Scott Walker, etc.)
This one was awesome, thank you!
Maybe a few more "distractors" could make it a little tougher, though I can't think of any off the cuff.
(Also, nice to see a fellow free stater!)
