Maybe. It'd be a lot of work to make, and it really doesn't seem like many people care for these coat of arms quizzes, but personally I've been thinking about it ;)

they are much more fun and interesting than flag ones though. Who cares about two or three colours, these tell more of a story (though the colours in flags often have a meaning to you cant see it by looking at it)

Agreed! I like the simplicity of a flag, but the coat of arms of a country usually tells a lot more.

If you are referring to the emblem of Mongolia, the blue is sky, and the green at the bottom is mountains. The wheel is the Wheel of Dharma, which is a Buddhist symbol.

It looked like a ships wheel to me too and the mountains very much look like ocean waves. The horse made me think of all sort of history/mytholgy stuff, but led me to the mediterannean.

Will look up what it actually stands for, because it is quite specefic. Not like the common eagle or lion that symbolises pride or strength or whatever.

Ow that was what is was, I got an etruskan feeling (cause the horse didnt seem to be troy or pegasus to me nor in depiction or style.)

Enjoyed the quiz. I thought the bird of paradise PNG was the easiest one, yet it is the least guessed!! Maybe because I am a kiwi.

If you know your flags well enough it isn't a challenge. But of course Aussies and Kiwis have an edge here, I can say that to us Canucks PNG is pretty much irrelevant...

Different monument, this one is Pha That Luang in Vientiane. It is considered a national monument to Laos in the same way that Angkor Wat is to Cambodia, although the latter is loads more famous globally.

I guessed every African country I could think of for PNG. The colors and the drum and the spear reminded me of African symbolism. Wasn't until after the quiz that I realized that was the Bird of Paradise, which is native to PNG.

It is a remarkably beautiful bird. I remember it best from the Planet Earth documentary, in which the camera crew set up in the backwaters of Papua New Guinea for weeks just to get a proper shot of it.

Taiwan's seems very lazy, especially when you see how much effort countries like Spain and Iceland have gone to. I like the simple symbolism of the Greek and Israeli ones, and Ireland's looks like they held a competition of primary school students only allowed to use MS Paint to design it. I feel Bangladesh should get marks off for having the outline of the country on it, and Nepal and Laos too for the pictures of landscapes. Can't beat the South Korean design - just like their flag it's effortlessly beautiful and perfectly representative.

Yeah the Nepal one isn't bad at all on second viewing. It's not trying for perspective in the scene like the Laos one, which I don't think is very emblem-y or coat-of-arms-y. Only just noticed the Nepalese flag at the top of it too!

Can you look over the one for Bangladesh? Because the picture here shows the government seal, whereas the national emblem looks like this. I'm not sure which one would be considered the "coat of arms," but I wanted to bring your attention so that you can check the image.

(Also, on a less important note, I think Bangladesh's national emblem looks waaay nicer than the government seal :)

You're correct, Wikipedia had the wrong emblem up when I made this quiz.

While I agree that the actual national emblem looks nicer, it is also a wee bit obscure for this quiz, so I will probably have to replace Bangladesh :(

I have no idea, but it's on their flag. I know Muslim art is very big on symmetry, so I'm sure that's part of it.

According to Wikipedia, the emblen "features four crescents and a sword in the shape of a water lily, surmounted by a shadda, a symbol used in Perso-Arabic script to double a letter". It became the national emblem following the Revolution.

I like some of the symbolism they manage to cram into the emblems. They feel so much more expressive than many flags do, in my opinion.

Considering the state of Afghanistan it may be best to either replace the emblem with that of the Islamic Emirate, or remove/replace it altogether.

I am going to wait before I make any decisions. It is just too recent an event, maybe when/if Jetpunk updates all the flag quizzes or Wikipedia starts using the Islamic Emirate's flag and coat of arms for the country of Afghanistan I will be willing to swap it out :/

I can see where the confusion comes in. A good clue to isolate Laos here is that the emblem is in the typical socialist style. I believe Belarus is the only ex-USSR country to retain its socialist-style emblem whilst all other (recognised) countries have adopted more neutral symbolism.

Probably the tigers. I think I got it by spamming names at Bangladesh. I was going for bird of paradise, which AFAIK is associated with SEA. Also, lol at the clipart tree.

The tigers got me to the right part of the world, and then I noticed the sun (star?) and crescent, which look very similar to the symbols on the Malaysian flag, just in a different orientation.

A good way of remembering it is the yellow star and crescent. The star and crescent stand for Islam, and the yellow stands for the Malay people.

This is a really nice quiz, but do you think you could perhaps add some South American or African coats of arms please? Kind of sad seeing two whole continents left out and it would make a really good quiz great.

Does anyone know the story of the lion on Spain's? I know I've seen it before, maybe in relation to Sweden, Switzerland, or Denmark, and think I've seen a youtube video about it. There's a wiki page about it- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion_(heraldry)

Kind of interesting seeing the Kiribati waves on Spain, Malawi sun on Laos, the clipart tree on Malaysia, and Pegasus on Mongolia.
