Please accept alternate spellings. Five of the governorates have spellings that end in -iya that you only accepted as -ia (for reference, go to Egypt in Merriam Webster's Geographical Dictionary).

And Beni Suef could use a few alternatives. Definitely "Bani" and please some of the "Suaif, Sueif, Swaif, Sweif, Suwef" etc... As a native Arab I knew the exact names but I couldn't transiliterate them correctly. Arabic is a mess and the government didn't really handle it that well! (I mean they were efficient at minimizing the number of letters, but still)

Added some new type-ins, thank you. I've already researched these names for alternate spellings, so if you'd like any more please comment! (Arabic to English transliteration is always difficult).

Those are ancient regions of Egypt along the river Nile, covering several governorates. They still have relevancy as broader geographical regions as far as I know (Upper Egypt even has an abolished yet still living monarchy), although they do not correspond to any one governorate of Egypt.

I appreciate that you made a quiz for Egypt First Level Subdivisions, but can you improve the map because it has wrong borders between governorates.

Did they change recently? Wikipedia lists the governorates in the same manner that I have them. I can't find anything on this myself.

Well in citypopulation.de they are more accurate and the borders are correct not like wiki and I don't think they changed but wiki has a wrong map.

I recognise how hard it is to make a quiz like this since you have to add a million variations for most governorates, but please add more for Fayoum

Cairo -> Kahera, Kahira, Qahira, Qahera (optional h at the end of each)

Minya -> Menya

Fayoum -> Fayum, Fayoum, Fayoom

Asyut -> Assyut, Assiut, Asiut

Sharqia -> Sharkia

Monufia -> Menofia

All of these (except Assyut) can also accept an El (colloquial) or Al (formal) before their names. e.g. El Kahera, Al Sharkia, etc

Also, Matrou/Matru shouldn't be accepted for Matruh since the h is very pronounced (مطروح)
