Middle East Geography on the Map

I always thought of the Sinai Peninsula as being the whole distance between the Mediterranean and Red Seas, but how you've drawn it is obviously a peninsula, and treating it as the whole distance between the two seas is just as obviously not a peninsula, but an isthmus! Maybe (after checking Wikipedia, which reflects how I see it), the Sinai "Peninsula" could be the most monumental misnaming that no-one has noticed until now.
