Am I not getting something or why are these numbers sometimes vastly different than the numbers in the source ?

Plus it's really misleading if there is the HRE, Prussia and the Habsburg dynasty in this because the latter two are clearly part of the Empire. I mean the HRE even had a Habsburg emperor at that time...

Wikipedia now puts the Tokugawa Shogunate at 27 million, but in retrospect basing a quiz like this off of a poorly edited Wikipedia article was probably a mistake.
