I couldn't tell which one it might be, but was kind of glad it was Belize City, which is the older and more populous town. It's good not to always default to capitals.
I have the complete opposite opinion I love that they had a little known city as Nuuk. Even though I couldn't remember it I was definitely scratching my head about it and it was in the back of my head somewhere haha.
hm... so there is more than one city in Belize. Who knew?
Also, yeah, Santiago should probably be accepted. and maybe even Belize for Belize City. I would have actually gotten it in that case as I was randomly typing in things.
There are even more than just one: http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/149667/belize-cities-by-map
Fun fact: Belize city was actually the former capital of Belize(British Honduras as it was known back then) until a hurricane hit the coastal city in 1961. The government moved it to Belmopan after the event. More here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belize_City
Was reading an article about how some countries have changed their capitals to other places. Learned that, and that Brazil's former capital was Rio de Janeiro up until 1960, I think.
I don't know this about Belize City - do people there ever just call it Belize? You cite New York, but you can't just say "Kansas" for Kansas City, or "Oklahoma" for Oklahoma City.
Saint Paul for Minneapolis, Jefferson City for Saint Louis, San Jose for San Francisco, Springfield for Saint Louis, San Jose del Cabo for Cabo San Lucas, Lapaz for Cabo San Lucas... but you forgot to accept "^NORTHAMERICANCITY" for every single one!
for dummies: way too many type-ins accepted! This quiz is far off from testing whether people can identify North American cities if it accepts ones that are within the ballpark.
Hawaii can be included in North America for political reasons (continents are almost completely arbirtrary after all). I do want to fix Greenland's colour one day, but there are many other edits I can make to improve my other quizzes, so it is very low on any sort of priority list.
Hailfax isn't a spelling issue, it's a not knowing the answer issue because you're removing an entire syllable. You wouldn't accept Pairs for Paris, right?
Here we go again. Greenland is NOT a country (Yet, depends on how many people there will be in Greenland in the future, and the Danish people)! Greenland is a TERRITORY of Denmark.
I think he's ornery that Nuuk is in the category "Other Countries" because it's located in Greenland? But Denmark... Denmark is an "Other Country". Oh boy, you better believe that Denmark is an "Other Country".
