Those wins are all from one strongman. Zydrunas Savickas. One of the all time greats in this sport.

I literally only remember ONE strong man competitor...Magnus Ver Magnusson. He's Icelandic and he won pretty much every year when i was watching them as a kid. 1991 then he won 3 in a row from 94-96. One dude accounts for almost half of their country's wins.

I've met and worked out with Magnus. Very good dude. Pretty quiet and reserved

He's the only one I remember too. I feel like, on ESPN (US Sports Chanel), this was shown a lot and he was the biggest star.

Sounds silly. But I started guessing the countries, from a previous quiz, which had the most heavy metal bands. Got 'em all. Wonder if there is some correlation?

all 5 Polish wins were achieved by Mariusz Pudzianowski, who won the competition the most times

Completely guessed except for Iceland because of that VICE video like 10 years ago. I was surprised Russia wasn’t on there. My first technique was guessing all the places it’s too cold to do anything else…

After a while, my tactic was just guessing random European countries.

Powerlifting in the culture is a big factor. I think people from other places (not all) could compete if they had similar societal advantages and made the choice to pursue it.

Kind of feels like this is something only Europeans take that seriously.
