Not sure what this is based on? Is it any language that any one person in that country speaks or do there have to be a minimum number of people? Does it include diaspora languages, or only languages native to that country?

It is based on languages that are officially recognized that can be spoken by a billion or just a handful of people, and it doesn't have to be the country's official language or native language.

Great! Would love to see a quiz based on most amount of native languages spoken as well, (if such data exists).

Good suggestion, but sadly I couldn't find any data,and the data would become strange because languages like English, French, and Spanish are widespread and not native languages unless you are from UK, Spain, France.
