Almost threw me off with the John Lennon question...pretty sure he wasn't talking about chilly temperatures in the country of Turkey in that one :)

technically it would be song with food in the title, as "Cold Turkey" which refers to a junkie stopping using immediately, the turkey in that phrase comes from the food item turkey, not the country. "from cold turkey being a dish that requires little preparation; originally used for heroin addicts"

America is the name of two continents, but it is also the name of a country. What are we supposed to call ourselves? United States of Americans? Oh, wait, that's still American.

What people call themselves is neither a country name nor a demonym. People from the United States of America are called Americans, but that does not make America a country.

For USA it should either be the country name: the United States of America OR it should be the demonym: American. The last n is important. America is not any of those, and therefore the rules should be changes if America is being accepted.

It would be like saying that "Danes" is a country name. It simply isn't (there are probably better examples to show the difference).

No. America is the continents of north America and south America.

USA is the country.

Since we're conversing in English we might as well follow English language usage.

When we continue the conversation in Uzbek we'll use those conventions.

Evidently those that live in USA, think they are the americans.

Although every country within north and south America are also americans.

Except nobody in those places refers to themselves as "American". The call themselves "North American" or "South American".

Some new sons like Lost in Japan with Shawn Mendes could be added. Also Katy Perry's California Girls (I know California is a state but still).

Nothing like a bouncy pop song about sympathy for a pilot dropping more explosives on a tiny rural country than all of World War 2. Add leg warmers, feathered hair and a terry headband for a callous video.
