Hm, I was asking the same as you. The first version of my comment even backed that idea, not understanding the difference between the Caspian and Black seas. And then it hit me: the Black Sea is connected to the Atlantic Ocean via the Dardanelles. The Caspian Sea is completed isolated, so it's considered a lake - even though it has saltwater.
The Caspian Sea doesn't have direct access to the ocean, so it doesn't count. It's just a huge lake. Uganda borders Lake Victoria, but we all know it's landlocked despite that. Same story for any country bordering the Caspian Sea.
Nice quiz, love the usage of the new Sudden Death quiz format. Though I think you should add more countries, 35 seems like too little. Finished this quiz in 51 seconds for reference.
Very good quiz. My age lied to me again, I was at school when Eritrea was part of Ethiopia so my mind always tells me that Ethiopia borders the sea, even though it hasn’t for the last 30 years.
People in the past didn't know if it was sea or lake. Now we have satellites and know it’s a lake.
- Vatican City, Liechtenstein, Rwanda, Malawi, Burundi, Chad, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakstan...
... and probably many more that I cannot recall at the moment.
Thank you for the quiz.
