Was a little surprised that Kane isn't on the list yet. I know last year he'd become the fastest player to 20 goals in the Champions League (in just 24 matches). Guess he's still at 20.
In keeping with my intent to try every quiz, I gave this one a shot and typed the only names I could think of - Zidane, Beckham, and Pele. Nada, zip, nothing. (Please forgive my ignorance.)
Nothing wrong with that. As an Irishman, I am often surprised by my ignorance of North American sport. But I have guessed a few team names on jetpunk quizzes by typing in random colours/colors, large felines, birds of prey and extreme weather conditions.
Maradona didn't score that many goals to begin with, he never exceeded more than 20 goals in single season, he was more of a midfielder and most famous for World Cup.
How does France produce so many great strikers? About four is the average for proper footballing nations (one if they’re lucky for everyone else) but there are seven froggies on this list…
I've never been much into soccer, and being American, you don't really absorb much about it from hearing people talk (as you do with football, basketball, or baseball, for example), because no one really talks about it. So all things considered, getting 5 was not bad for me, as they're the only 5 players on this list whose names I can even remember having heard... Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappé, Drogba, and Neymar. I also typed in 5 other footballers whose names I remembered... Pelé, Maradona, Beckham, Zidane, and Sócrates... but clearly those guys didn't make this particular list, LOL.
I'm quite sure you're missing players like Litmanen, Pizarro, Scholes, Giggs, Anelka and Elber?
