Excellent quiz. Could just be me but I could have used a wee bit more time. Spent a lot of time trying to figure out the first category - because I thought you were looking for something like gods and goddesses, not planets!
Good one, Helvetica! Your quizzes are always spectacular and this featured one should include more people taking quizzes from this well-deserving user!
Wow, I just don't know what to say, this means even more to me than being featured. I've always said if my quizzes aren't educational then they should at least be enjoyable! I'm think I'm gon' cry ^-^
"Capital cities" didn't work. Apparently that wasn't specific enough, so I tried "state capital cities". Nope. Okay, I give up. What was the answer? "State capitals". Are you kidding me?
Not that it would have been hard to guess, but I got "seas" because after typing "planet" the answer registered and I kept typing "s"," and then the next answer I went to was "Earth".. so I had "sea"
Me neither. I kept guessing countries near the other three, cause I figured there was some connection I just wasn't getting. Was pretty sure it was unlikely a piece of paper was called a pakistan or a russia, though.
There was a huge controversy after the 2000 US presidential election over whether to count the "hanging chads", those circles that appeared to have been punched by the voting machines in Florida, but hadn't completely fallen out. The results were so close in Florida that the outcome of the election greatly depended on whether or not to count them, and how much of the chad had to be hanging to be counted. Considering all that happened during the next president's term - 9/11, the war in Iraq etc., - those silly hanging chads had an effect on much of the world.
I echo what a lot of other quizzers have said above - a really fun, interesting quiz, just challenging enough. It must have taken some planning - thank you for your efforts.
May I just say I don't know who's paying you all to say these really lovely things but they are making my day so please continue. I love making quizzes on this website, so if you really enjoy or learn something from just one of mine, then that makes me super happy. Merci beaucoup my darlings ^_^ xxxxx
there are brazil nut trees, chestnut trees, and hazel nut trees, but they aren't usually referred to as brazil trees, chest trees or hazel trees. So trees doesn't really fit the category
Great quiz. Can you accept 'spinning top' for the child's toy that spins? I would never just call it a top, and it didn't occur to me to miss out the 'spinning'!
There is no nougat in a Mars bar. There is caramel and some other creamy stuff but no nuts. Nougat from Montelimar is made of egg white and honey and always has nuts. A famous chocolat bar with real pieces of nougat is Toblerone. Maybe Mars bars in the US have nuts?
This is an amazing quiz Helvetica. This isn't my first time taking this quiz, but I thought I'd leave a comment this time. I enjoyed this quiz very much; the premise was quite creative. Thank you very much for your quiz :)
category: exclamations of praise
Never heard of the hole punch buts being called that- but knew the category, would have taken me a lot longer guessing to get the answer!
Frustrating but fun.
When wide Sargasso eyes are smiling?
When South China eyes are smiling?
When eyes Bering down on you are smiling?
As you can see, I had no clue.
Also, WIkipedia lists that city as the third largest in Morocco (by population). Don't know whether it was metro or proper.
Section 6 I had the answers for the One eyed beast from Greek mythology and the Fire Bird. Thought for sure the category was Harry Potter...
