A total of 48 clubs have appeared in the final of the EFL Trophy. How many of the tournament's winners and runners-up can you name?
The competition was launched as the Associate Members' Cup during the 1983–84 season and was renamed as the Football League Trophy ahead of the 1992–93 season. It took on its current name as part of the Football League's rebranding for the 2016–17 season. It is primarily open to teams in the third and fourth tiers of English football. A similar quiz on the winners of the short-lived Full Members' Cup can be found here.

The final of the 2019/20 season's edition of the tournament was not held until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By this time, Leasing.com no longer sponsored the competition and so the match was branded as the 2020 Papa John's Trophy Final. Papa Johns underwent rebranding later in 2021, hence the lack of apostrophe in the sponsor's name from the 2021/22 season onwards.
The competition's first matches took place on 20th February 1984, with that season's final on 24th May at Boothferry Park. It was essentially a reconstitution of the Football League Group Cup which first took place in 1981/82 and was itself then renamed as the Football League Trophy for the 1982/83 season. This initial tournament was formed by the Football League as a replacement for the Anglo-Scottish Cup which had run from 1975/76 to 1980/81 and was itself a reincarnation of the Texaco Cup (1970/71 to 1974/75).
