There's nothing inherently wrong with rap as a genre, even if you have an issue with specific rappers. Sometimes I think people should just get off their high horse and let people enjoy something
Actually there IS A problem. It is riddled with misogyny and lacks instrumentation and/or a singing voice as instrument so they are not " musicians.". The genre promotes unnatural societal woes such as prostitution and crime. Societal decay is unhealthy.
Even if you argue rock has misogynistic elements, it was never so abusive as rap is. And only anarchist metal promotes crime as rap does. At least they play instruments though and so can still be categorised as musicians.
Maybe you should look up the word music and define it. It involves talent in playing an instrument or using your voice at a broad octave range. Rap is speaking or shouting. It isn't music. You can like it. But it is not music. It's rap.
Rap is cool. I think a lot of people find this list depressing because figures like Eminem and Niki Minaj are googled by millions upon millions of people who don't even know historical figures or how their governments operate, etc. Most kids can tell you tons of meaningless info on degenerate celebrity morons, but can't locate continents on a map, or explain the branches of government. This puts us into a huge deficit when trying to keep your nation and culture afloat.
It's not cool. And thankfully it is not cool among gen alpha. They have great taste and are reaching back to actual music thank God. Millennials really destroyed the music scene.
Spouse? I mean she did gain acclaim as a model and was a former first lady. I'm sure something other than "spouse" could be used. Also, is anyone else happily surprised to see Stephen Hawking so high on this list?
Could you maybe make it a bit more lenient on the spelling? I spelt Barack with two 'r's and I missed him. Also, a bit more information, like age or examples of things that they have done could be useful. But I love the idea of the quiz.
How was "person" counted? For instance I struggle to believe that figures such as Jesus, Muhammed or Gautama Buddha got fewer views than Sunny Leone???
well for one thing, the people you mentioned are much more well-known and talked about outside of the internet. I have never in my life looked up Jesus or Mohammad on Wikipedia because I've never needed to; I've learned about them in classes and religious groups, etc. etc.
Just like real life. Bill got to be president, and has all the popularity from those who either love him or love to make fun of his actions. Hillary is just a hated bore for most folks.
Bonaparte, Stalin, Columbus or Caesar didn't make the list. Instead, there are golden figures such as Kim Kardashian or Nicki Minaj. Humanity is brilliant
this is why the USA, especially, is in deep trouble. Kids today know way more about Kartrashians than how to budget money, locate nations on a map, or explain the Constitution. They can now be trained to vote for idiots, with nothing but stupid emotions and propaganda, or not to take an interest in anything at all.
I disagree. I feel they should be wanting to know more about those figures and reading up on them. Pathetic any rappers, or TV reality people are on there.
That was a nasty thing to say because that's a lot of people's religion. He was a horrible man who abused his wife and Julian. Funny how stupid people are about celebrities.
I think you’re the stupid one, not knowing that IsleAuHaulte was quoting a well-known John Lennon remark to point out the fact that John appeared on the list and not Jesus. No need to be so hostile. I’m a Christian and I’m not offended. Leaving 15 comments passionately winging at people who like music that you don’t like on a single quiz is pretty weird.
Trump has multiple claims to fame - media personality, actor, wrestler, criminal, entrepreneur, etc. Personally, I wouldn't put leader at the top of that list.
I kind of agree that the list paints a bleak picture of which people society seems more interested in but we have to realize the internet is not old. So most people are looking up contemporary people because they directly influence their lives through media. No one talks about Napoleon outside of history classes or niche circumstances, but many hear Beyonce's music or news about the Kardashians daily.
I don't like rap 'music'.
"any music that isnt mine isn't music!1!1!"
first person ive heard saying gen alpha has great taste lol
If the majority of views came after then I think it's fair to use the term "spouse".
And call me an anglocentric but I feel like just "the queen" should be acceptable for Elizabeth II.
Also, The Undertaker could then be also an athlete
