Posting the source here since some of y'all are asking about it. Note that not all of the shaded regions in the map near the top of the page have a surviving herd of muskoxen, as a few of the re-introduced herds have died out.
I had no idea either. Got them all in 20 seconds though. Started with mongolia (partly inspired by the picture), then china, the my first hit russia. Then usa canada (or vice versa) So I thought ah we need to stay up top a bit, so went norway, ok, sweden ah, finland.. hey... denmark then? Ah Got em :)
"Attempts to introduce musk ox to Svalbard in 1929 initially succeeded, but the herd disappeared in the 1970s." They live in Norway but not in Svalbard.
Fairly easy quiz. Should give way less time. I can name every country in the world in 7:30 and I know there are JetPunkers who can do it faster. I just started guessing and it took me 54 Seconds.
Do they tip-toe around the coast to avoid Finland?
Per the inquisitive instructions of the quiz, I'd argue that you "might" encounter a musk ox in the wild in Nauru or Guinea Bissau. It's incredibly unlikely, but the probability can't be 0. Perhaps pop a source in to clear things up is what I'm trying to say!
Anybody ever seen, muskoxen fighting each other? They have 8inch thick skulls and ram into each other at full, such a force their whole body shakes. Worth a quick youtube search if you are curious! Merry Christmas
Legends tell of a heroic Musk oxen named "Bjorn" residing in Iceland's northwest. Bjorn was said to be able to summon the bifrost when he stamped his hooves. Impossible to say if he still survives to this day, but the odds are in favour that he does.
I kinda wish Denmark would just cut Greenland loose, overseas British protectorate style. Let them be their own standalone country but without the hassle of having to stand up their own military which in practical terms would be both impossible and a waste of resources that already exist to keep it nominally Danish. It would help me not forget Greenland when I have to type Denmark for it instead in these quizzes, anyway.
