For some reason, I thought the question was asking which one used US dollars, which I knew Jamaica had their own currency (even if they are perfectly happy letting you pay in US dollars), so yeah, I got that one wrong. Whoops.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a temperature can be "lower" or "higher" and the air / water / whatever is "warmer" or "colder". The same way a car is moving fast, but its speed is high.
That's true, however colloquial English seems to favour 'hotter/colder' to describe temperature. This is the sort of thing people will furiously debate online!
No sorry, it just isn't. Sydney to Auckland is about 3800 km but Lord Howe Island (part of New South Wales) to Cape Reinga is about 1300 km. The distance could be less than 1300 km if Three Kings Islands are used instead of Cape Reinga, but they're uninhabited and sometimes that doesn't count for quizzes around here.
Well aware of that, but unfortunately not all infinities have the same order. (I believe they do in this case). Common sense says the question implies "longest coastline to a finite precision".
I don't know if this is because of a recent update or not, but question 8 appears to be broken. I selected the picture of Norway, the additional fact at the bottom indicates Norway is the correct answer, but I get the question wrong for some reason.
No, Argentina has a highly low population compared to many countries. Ethiopia is the second biggest by population in Africa (after Nigeria), a continent that will one day dominate population.
It helps reinforce my knowledge of flags, outlines, and names. It also provides a nice trivia bit. And I thought that the trivia questions were well-chosen; they made me consider the geographical positions of the countries, as well as how they might interact with their neighbors.
Do questions 9, 12, 13 really fit this quiz? It is not really a “competition” between both countries. One country answers the question and the other one doesn’t, but no country “beats” the other one. It would be weird to say “country 1 has more -ish than country 2”.
You made total sense. How can countries go "head to head" and compete when we're talking about distances between each other? Or coastline lengths? Wording of this quiz needs updating to make more sense.
Thought Argentina was bigger population wise - apparently not :(
… no it doesn’t.
That ain't gonna happen! (Tasman Sea is so dangerous).
I really enjoyed this format.

I don’t know if I’m clear.
Nice quiz anyway.
And happy new year!
