I can't believe I got the NATO question wrong. And I live in the UK...*Goes and stands in the corner with a white pointy hat with a D on it, hanging his head in shame*
I have to come clean: When I finished the quiz 15/15 I yelled out "Suck it, Quizmaster!", but then I saw that he finished it ten seconds faster than me :(
The president question just confused my entire history of Geography, I thought it was trying to say which one was more older in the president position, thats why I chose Xi Jinping. BIDEN HAD JUST STARTED..
Very rough when you don't know flags and country shapes well.
I think those confused about the president question are mostly non native speakers. It would be phrased "which has the longer sitting current president", "which has a current president who has spent longer in office", "which elected their current president first", or something similar. Who is older could only be asking about age.
#8 should say "Which has longer total land borders", not "Which has the longest total land borders". It's a comparison, not an absolute; the longest total land borders title belongs to Russia I believe.
I saw the Caribbean question and had a nagging silly pedantic thought that Barbados isn't in the Caribbean, being outside the ring of Lesser Antilles islands forming the limit and geologically separate from those islands as well. Obviously couldn't be Cyprus though so I went with it... Then seeing the explanation afterwards:
"Barbados is in the Caribbean region, Cyprus is in the Mediterranean Sea"
It's like the quizmaker also couldn't quite bring themselves to say that Barbados is in the Caribbean Sea, only the Caribbean "region"! Is the Bahamas in the Caribbean "region"? Florida? Myrtle Beach?
The Caribbean region is actually quite well defined. It largely correlates to the Caribbean tectonic plate, as well as the CARICOM intergovernmental organisation. Might be interesting to read the wiki article to learn more ;)
Definitely wise to use "region" rather than "sea" in the explanation. The "sea" is pretty easy to define and usually doesn't include Barbados, whereas the "region" has many many definitions and usually does include Barbados. Plus maybe Bahamas and others.
I in fact live in the epicentre of the Caribbean region (northern Peru ;) and visit family and friends in the Caribbean Sea frequently! I'm sure the wiki article is fascinating, thank you so much for the suggestion ;)
p.s. Genuinely well done for learning about CARICOM - but I challenge you to spend a month in a CC country and hear anyone mention it... ;) Bahamas is a member, you could pop there if you don't want to actually enter the Caribbean Sea ;)
Got the higher temperature one wrong
Good thing I dont have to feel bad cause its the second least guessed
(maybe like those plains that do not show up on radar though the coldness of its shadow betrayed it)

Again, thank you for the learning suggestions ;)
(edited for extra sarcasm)
