Okay, who the heck is going to get xyst?
But seriously, generally when there's such an outlier like this it would just be removed from the quiz. But of course, you can't just remove a letter from the alphabet so it must stay :)
it’s not like we need the letter X thoIt think it helped I could use a lot of word ending in the -oat sound, started with boat and coat, and could do several more, also "note" still having the sounb in my head. And only a small adaptation needed (for my own logic/speed of thinking) to switch to dead. I realise now there is also something like dode or dote (to spoil a child or cuddle them a lot or something like that). And herd. I don't know the -oat was a starting point and for most words it just felt like a small side-step (not for the vowels and q and z for instance)
Anyway in short, if you get into a flow it helps. If you start from scratch from each word your brain have to restart each time. Hope this is helpful to someone
i didn't know that xyst was even a word
Good quiz
Yes I know strange/unusual words haha, and I language which is not my own. My family sometimes makes jokes that I should have been born somewhere else haha. (and my sister just wished me happy st-patricks day with the text "since you are practically english anyway"
1. (in ancient Greek and Roman architecture) a covered portico, as a promenade.
2. (in an ancient Roman villa) a garden walk planted with trees.
