My second attempt was weird. I got, back to back, _A_H_N_T_N _.C. and W_S_I_G_O_ D._. Then Gaborone appeared as both _A_O_O_E and G_B_R_N_, non-consecutively.

It is the de-facto administrative capital of Benin. If you check Jetpunk's World Capitals Quiz as cited above, it treats Porto-Novo / Cotonou the same way it treats La Paz / Sucre and Pretoria / Cape Town / Bloemfontein. Cotonou is not the only capital of Benin, but it is a capital of Benin.

Great quiz! I noticed _A_P_I_A_ had a correct answer percentage of 0% which is a rare sight; I wonder how many others have never been answered correctly.

Kyiv is correct. I'm saying this quiz needs to be fixed, since it uses Kiev instead. It specifically says "Using names exactly as they appear on the World Capitals Quiz."

Well, no, it can definitely fit _O_O_A since that's the pattern of how it's typed in when you answer any other quiz on this site. Same with Lome and Rome. Making _O_O_A an entry and not accepting the much better known capital that fits the pattern is cutesy pedantry.

It's about not butchering the official name. There is a separate entry for _O_O_Á and _O_O_A. Just because the typeins allow flexibility for those who cannot type with accents doesn't make it correct to say Bogotá is written Bogota (even in English).

And also, if i remove the answer to combine them, the stats will reset and several more people will complain about their scores being reset.

The point is that Bogota is an acceptable answer in basically all other quizzes and, while this site attracts plenty of language and geographic particularists, most people on this site are English speakers who generally do not use/remember diacritics when referring to cities/capitals in other places. So it's inconsistent with the rest of the website. I mean, if GM wants to change all other quizzes so that only Bogotá is accepted, then go for it.

I spent about a minute trying and failing to spell "Yamoussoukro" - then at the end of the quiz I noticed that it was in there twice! Very nasty quiz, I enjoyed it!

Why is 'Kingstown' (spelled exactly as written) on here twice? Kingstown, with a 'w' is the capital of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, but that's the only country that has that as its capital. Jamaica's 'Kingston' doesn't have a 'w.'
