Actually, Singapore did not secede from Malaysia; Malaysia expelled Singapore. Due in part to the anti-Chinese sentiments that led to anti-Chinese riots in Kuala Lumpur several years later.
Ireland’s recent tax haven boom has been quite recent. It used to be much poorer than the UK and isn’t nearly as ubiquitous/famous. Combine that with a population 1/10 of its more famous neighbour and it’s less guessed
Also are we Including the French Guiana border, or is that just not very rich countries per capita. Also assuming you don't include the dubious Qatar-UAE border. Kuwait Kind of surprised me and so did not seeing Sweden-Finland, guess that is for the same reason there is no Saudi Arabia-Oman, because Norway is like UAE, it is the largest out of those three
Denmark is 22nd and Germany is 21st, so their average is only 21.5, this not making the list. Germany only makes it on here elsewhere as it borders richer countries.
France and Netherlands only share a border through their oversea territory of St. Martin/Sint Maarten. Which does not count on Jetpunk unless stated otherwise.
Nope, their border is between Greenland and Canada, not Denmark itself. Since this is an overseas territory (not a constituent region) then the border is not counted. (As is standard for most JetPunk quizzes)
Nope, this is not stated in the rules of this quiz. Some vague "side-wide standard" (which does not even exist btw) should not be applied. Canada borders Denmark. Period.
Well, a "site wide standard" absolutely does exist, and has been used on Featured quizzes (especially English) for many years. We can't just be adding random additions and extra rules to every single quiz, as that would mean every quiz requires paragraphs of clarifications before you can even take it => what's the point?

A+B & A+C are greater than B+C... quite logic, isnt it?
UAE + SA = 22 (11 avg)
UAE + O = 40 (20 avg)
SA + O = 46 (23 avg)
So because UAE > SA, then the third combination doesn't quite make the cut.
Singapore-Brunei: 5.5;
Singapore-Malaysia: 26 (Brunei and Malaysia do border each other and score 26.5);
Australia-New Zealand: 26.5;
Japan-South Korea: 32.
You can see why Singapore (5) and Brunei (6) didn't want to be part of Malaysia (47).

This beats or equals 29.4% of test takers
I managed to stupidly miss the United Arab Emirates – kept typing Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman repeatedly.
Norway is 9th so easily gets in
Average rank 20.5, just off the list :)

Denmark (13) + Canada (28) = 20.5
Saudi Arabia (18) + Bahrain (26) = 22
Netherlands (16) + France (29) = 22.5
