How many times are we going to keep making these "name all the countries" quizzes? If you know all the countries, it's just the same quiz over and over.
But this justifies its existence because most people will have their own method to naming all them. Being forced to name them in a random order can easily put people off track and make it more difficult.
Also remember that there are many users on JetPunk who do not know all the countries, or perhaps know all the names but not their precise shape/location.
I struggle with just about a handful of shapes of Eastern European countries and this quiz might help me get the last few down. So it's definitely different and I like it a lot.
But there's a difference between knowing the country names and knowing the shapes of the countries. If you cant put the name to the shape, it gets harder.
Don't like it? Give it a low rating and don't take it. Personally, I like it. It might not be a better mousetrap, but it's a new, creative take on a old quiz and I like to exercise that part of my brain.
I like it and it has its own right to excist. But indeed there are an awfull lot of name the country quizzes. Not complaining though, there areplenty indeed many ways to make/take a quiz about the country.
and I wanted to add, but the names always stay the same. But forgot this was jetpunk and every quiz seems to be a new place to argue about the same things haha. Where IS cyprus btw ? ;)
I easily got them all without an incorrect guess, and could do so in any order. I still think it's a fun quiz and enjoyed taking it. There is a simple solution if you're tired of "Name the Country" quizzes. Don't take them.
Thanks! I hope so, they take a long while to make (the map is a pain to configure), but I hope to make more soon! You can already try the original: Sequential U.S. States on a Map!
On the tablet, each time you fill in answer the screen jumps/scrolls down, to the advert and you have to scroll up, to see the map again. Annoying and time consuming takes you about twice the time (disregarding the fact that it is much slower typing on a tablet anyway)
could you fix this please? Kind of unplayable like this.
I came here to make the same comment. On the mobile version it will jump down to center on the advertisement all 40+ times you get an answer. Then scroll around searching for wherever the next blue country is.
Moldova slowed me.. im never quite certain where it is and quite often i type maldives :( like this time.. maldives didnt take so i got confused and tried other countries... if this was the last one i would ve aced it with plenty of times to spare, now i missed a few.
Hey, how about creating a quiz where Europe is out of its usual shape, like upside down, mirrored, inside out... Some way so the countries are not at their usual spot; that should make it more challenging yet.
the screen jumping to the bottom of the page every answer, is challenging enough ;) But display errors/glitches aside...
not a bad idea :) needs to be a variation of the country shapes quiz then. Cause wouldnt work with the entire map if you see the countries that border it.
I know and can name all the countries perfectly. But I simply cannot understand the instructions to this quiz, what you are supposed to do to make it work. It starts with the UK highlighted in blue and a small box top left where Iceland would be. But typing either of these first thing doesn't work. I must be missing something....
When you begin, the blue bar within the progress bar must be on the far left, otherwise it will not recognise the answer. This can be mistakenly changed by clicking or tabbing. UK is the first answer, but that blue box in the bar beneath the map must be on the far left! (It works on the same principle as yellow-box quizzes)
I like the format in this quiz, however I still do not understand why Cyprus, nor Turkey appear in here (Cyprus in its entirety and Turkey half of it). Is it possible that the Quizmaster is so blind as to think he or she knows more than the encyclopeadias? Furthermore if that would be correct, alleging that those countries are "not geographically" in Europe, why is Russia, which is further away, in Europe. Maybe it is obsessive on my part but I simply cannot turn my face away...
Jetpunk has a general sitewide standard for which multi-continental countries belong in which continent. Unless specified otherwise, on this site Cyprus is Asian (geographically in Asia although an EU member), Turkey is Asian (almost entirely in Asia), and Russia is European (most of the population lives in the part that is geographically Europe, although more of its land is Asian). Even if you may disagree with these categorizations, they are used consistently throughout the site.
you should be able to skip to the next one if you're not sure about a particular answer. i got stuck on Czech Republic and for the life of me couldn't get it, so i was screwed for the rest of the quiz. could've got a ton more right if i was allowed to skip to the next one.
you technically can, just press the down arrow and the blue box at the bottom will move right. You won't be able to see the country but you can guess it blindly and you can keep going past it (once you guess the unseen country you can see the rest after that)
Wonderful quiz, thank you, very entertaining and educative. But could you please please change the map so that it shows Crimea as a part of the Ukraine? Let us not support Russian aggressions please (this is not an attack against Russian users of this page, of course!!).
I guess just I broke the stereotype that all conservative Americans don’t know countries outside of the US, because I just got all of them with 1:37 left.
Fantastic quiz, as many other people have commented, being able to do in random order by shape is the challenge so yes I think is is excellent. Is there an Asian one? Thank you.
I don't know if it is just me but the blue bar at the bottom does not seem to be showing up as a country gets shown on the map (in both light and dark mode).
Why is this map now showing Crimea as Russia? I would like to understand the reason - recently all quizzes started to include Crimea as part of Russian territory. What changed? War? Russia has illegally invaded Crimea since 2014 but the territory is still part of Ukraine
Also remember that there are many users on JetPunk who do not know all the countries, or perhaps know all the names but not their precise shape/location.
Move the progress bar

I got 100%! I'm glad the countries I guessed didn't disappear afterwards! I wouldn't do well on a hard version of this quiz.
