Not sure why, but every answer I type in on my phone the screen jumps back to the ad and I have to go back down and pan around looking for a blue state.
Not sure I can do much from my end, sounds like a potential bug with the mobile site?
Possible workaround: view the page "as Desktop Site", it's usually available on most browsers and will show you the page as if your phone is a little browser. This should fix most problems I would think. Also, because you're not having to read anything for the quiz, it means you don't need to zoom in to see anything, just enough to see the map.
Not easily! The map essentially has three copies of itself, a white layer on top, a blue layer below that and then a green layer below that. I've then set it up so that when an answer is correct it hides its blue layer (thus appearing green) and hides the next state's white layer, thus making it blue.
It was quite logically challenging to get this to function within JetPunk's restriction!
I can't imagine the work it would take, but if you did this same concept as a World Quiz, I can almost guarantee it would quickly become one of the most popular quizzes on this site.
Well done on the ordering of the states. It could be made much easier or even more difficult by choosing another order, but I think this is a very good order.
What a great quiz, I really like the concept. Only got 35 though... I really need to improve my US state knowledge, I've been focusing on countries and flags too much.
It took me a few goes to complete it, as I got stuck on a couple of states (mind block), namely, Connecticut, then Missouri, West Virginia, Iowa. Then I was sweet!
I just got one... I probably take the average down haha. I can name all the states but only for some I know exactly where they are, a few more sort of region (east west etc)
Also, what about a version putting them in order of when they became states? https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_date_of_admission_to_the_Union
This is great - thanks for all your hard work. I would love to see these for some other countries. I'm still working on Germany's states and England's counties.
there are 3.0414093e+64 possible combinations of the order of the states, therefore there is a 1 in 3.0414093e+64 of getting them all in alphabetical order in one generation
I did it so fast that the world turned backwards on its axis and the clock read 4:01 when I was done. I also knitted a jumper. And I was standing on my head.
I’ve been asked to run The World Bank, but I told them they would have to wait until I graduate from The Kim Il-Sung Kindergarten in Pyongyang. I would have done it quicker but Gary Kasparov is a sore loser and wouldn’t get off the phone until I agreed to let him have yet another rematch.
I've been coming back to this quiz for a while trying to improve my score and I've just found out by accident that NY , NJ , NM etc are accepted . Great series . the hard world version is a great one you can come back to repeatedly .

Well done, btw.

The progress bar is really cool!
I nearly got stuck on the western states.
By the way, will you randomize the order (if possible), and will you make a world version of this? That would be great!
Look in the series to the right: there is already a world version! (And every continent)
